Tamla Olivier Continues Shaping Maryland’s Energy Future Through Executive Leadership, Operational Excellence, and Community Impact
Black Business Review recognizes Tamla Olivier as one of the most influential corporate executives in Maryland continuing to drive innovation, operational leadership, and community advancement through her role as President and Chief Executive Officer of Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE).
As CEO of BGE, a subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, Olivier oversees one of the nation’s oldest and most respected utility companies while leading critical initiatives tied to infrastructure modernization, energy reliability, customer service, workforce development, and long-term sustainability throughout Central Maryland.
Under her leadership, BGE continues serving more than 1.3 million electric customers and over 700,000 natural gas customers while navigating the rapidly evolving demands of energy transition, grid modernization, and operational performance in one of the country’s most important utility markets.
Known for her disciplined leadership approach and strong operational background, Olivier has built a reputation centered on execution, strategic planning, and organizational transformation. Her leadership reflects a modern executive style that combines financial accountability, customer-focused innovation, and long-term infrastructure investment designed to strengthen reliability and improve service delivery across the region.
Prior to becoming President and CEO of BGE, Olivier served as Chief Operating Officer for Exelon’s Pepco Holdings, where she oversaw utility operations across Pepco, Delmarva Power, and Atlantic City Electric. During her tenure, the organization achieved record reliability performance while completing major infrastructure and transmission projects that strengthened operational efficiency and customer service capabilities.
Her executive experience also includes leadership roles within Constellation as well as senior positions at T. Rowe Price, Wells Fargo, and United Defense, helping establish a broad foundation in human resources, organizational leadership, customer operations, and executive management.
Beyond the corporate boardroom, Olivier continues maintaining a strong presence throughout the Baltimore civic and nonprofit community. She serves on several major boards and organizations including MedStar Health, the Greater Baltimore Committee, Baltimore’s Promise, the Baltimore Community Foundation, and the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore. She also serves as Vice Chair of the Maryland Governor’s Workforce Development Board, further reinforcing her commitment to workforce development and economic growth throughout the state.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Olivier represents a growing class of executives helping reshape leadership at the highest levels of corporate America through strategic vision, operational excellence, and community-centered leadership.
