ON THE MOVE? Republic of Ireland ace Michael Obafemi reportedly set for loan move to Championship high-flyers Swansea City

(BBR)  The move would make sense for both sides as despite being in second, the Welsh outfit have the lowest goal total among the top five.

Obafemi has endured a very frustrating campaign at St. Mary's as he has made just one substitute appearance in the league.

With the Saints flying thanks to the excellent partnership formed between Danny Ings and Che Adams, never mind their other options in Theo Walcott, Dan N’Lundulu and Ireland compatriot Shane Long, he has no route to force his way back into contention this season.

It's a pity how it's worked out for him given he had shown real promise last season.

 

PREVIOUS POTENTIAL

He emerged as a regular first-team contributor as he racked up 21 league appearances with him notching three goals.

These included a last-minute equaliser at Old Trafford as well as a superb solo effort at Stamford Bridge where he swept a beautiful curled effort past Kepa Arrizabalaga with his weaker left foot.

With Ireland going through a record spell without a goal, it's easy to envision a path for him to also get back in contention with the national team if he can start impressing in the Championship.
