The Lonce Scott II Legacy Foundation was established to ensure that the values Lonce Scott II lived every day—education, leadership, mentorship, and community service—continue to inspire and transform lives for generations to come. Rather than simply preserving his memory, the foundation is actively investing in young people who will become tomorrow’s leaders.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the foundation champions youth empowerment through mentorship and scholarship initiatives, opening doors to postsecondary education while preparing the next generation to lead with confidence, purpose, and compassion.
Lonce Scott II dedicated more than two decades to serving youth and families throughout Greater Philadelphia. A graduate of W.B. Saul High School and Delaware Valley University, he built a career centered on developing future leaders. During his tenure with the Boy Scouts of America Cradle of Liberty Council, he advanced from Director of Urban Outreach to Director of Field Operations, mentoring thousands of young people and expanding opportunities for underserved communities. His commitment to leadership also extended through the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World (IBPOEW), where he championed education, youth development, and community partnerships.
Today, his legacy continues through an organization dedicated to carrying that work forward.

At the heart of the foundation is a mission rooted in opportunity. Through scholarships, mentorship, leadership development, and community service, the organization seeks to empower young people with the tools they need to pursue higher education, develop leadership skills, and become active contributors in their communities.
Its vision is equally ambitious—to create a future where every young leader is equipped to strengthen their community while leaving a legacy of service, integrity, and purpose.
The foundation’s work is built around three strategic pillars.
The first is scholarships, helping students overcome financial barriers while pursuing college, technical education, and career opportunities.
The second is leadership development, providing mentorship, educational programming, workshops, and experiences that prepare emerging leaders to serve with confidence and character.
The third is community service, encouraging young people to become engaged citizens through volunteerism and initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods while honoring the values that defined Lonce Scott II’s life.
Together, these initiatives create an approach that extends well beyond financial assistance. The organization is committed to developing character, building leadership capacity, and fostering civic engagement that lasts a lifetime.

One of the foundation’s first major public initiatives will be Rooted in Legacy: The Lonce Scott II Legacy Foundation Launch Fundraiser & Celebration of Life, scheduled for September 20, 2026. The event will celebrate Lonce Scott II’s enduring impact while raising resources to expand scholarships, mentorship programs, and leadership initiatives throughout the Greater Philadelphia region.
Community leaders, businesses, philanthropists, volunteers, and supporters are invited to become partners in this mission through sponsorships, donations, and volunteer engagement. Every contribution helps expand educational opportunities and leadership programs that will benefit young people for years to come.

The foundation also welcomes corporate sponsors and community partners interested in expanding educational access and leadership opportunities for future generations.
As the organization grows, its purpose remains clear: create opportunities that empower young people to succeed while inspiring them to serve others.
“Education opens doors, leadership changes lives, and service transforms communities. The Lonce Scott II Legacy Foundation exists to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to learn, lead, and leave a lasting impact.”
In an era when communities continue searching for meaningful ways to prepare the next generation, the Lonce Scott II Legacy Foundation offers a model built on timeless principles—invest in education, mentor future leaders, and create opportunities that extend far beyond a single lifetime.
That is how a legacy becomes more than a memory.
It becomes a movement.
